Rockefeller Lookout, Englewood Cliffs NJ
Six legs, two antennas, and 1/16 of an inch long; an ant. That's what it feels like to be at the top of an overlook. My entire life in Jersey these experiences came every once in awhile, as places like the ones below are hard to find. The experience of seeing the huge valley from New Jersey to New York and feeling so tiny, like an ant, is so rare. I feel like the whole view could just gobble me up.
Rockefeller Lookout is an overlook, about 1 mile north of parkway exit 1, only access-able northbound. Rockefeller is only 400 ft in elevation but you have a gorgeous view of New York City and the Hudson River. There are signs to detour people from venturing off from the towering cliff next to the Hudson, but as long as you’re not fooling around, you should be fine. This overlook is a bit of a distance away but worth it if you’re like me (hate the city but love the skyline and views it provides). Admiring from a distance is key, kinda like having a secret admirer. I am New York City's biggest secret admirer!
